The Planning Commission’s approval doesn’t require the district to follow through on the project, if its building plans change, said Planning Director Cassandra Schmick.Ĭommissioner Rick Meintel asked whether the softball field project should trigger a requirement for the district to build sidewalks nearby, but other commissioners pointed out that both fields are far removed from Walton Avenue and Greenwood Road - and that there is already a sidewalk that roughly parallels Walton running through school grounds. Commission member John Klingeman - who is also a member of the school board - wondered about the Planning Commission’s approval, given talk he’s heard about school officials considering an addition to Logan Elementary as a possibility in the context of its planned expansion of elementary space.
